Renata Garcia-Menacho
is an emerging fashion designer who combines her love for her Latin American cultural heritage and for Italian craftsmanship. Born in Lima, Peru, she attended the German school in Lima and left her hometown on her 18th birthday to study in Frankfurt, Germany. After several years working as a banking consultant in different countries in Latin America, Africa, and Asia, her multicultural background and her restless passion and desire to showcase artisanal design soon germinated into an enrollment in fashion design courses.

She honed her craft through courses at the Central Saint Martins and Cordwainers at the London College of Fashion in London, United Kingdom and also through Fashion Design studies at the Akademie für Mode und Design in Hamburg, Germany.  Renata topped-off her training in Italy, in a Master’s course in cooperation with Fendi at the Accademia di Costume e Moda in Rome and by working directly with Italian artisans and factories in the Marche Region of Italy, the center of accessory making in the country.

As a co-founder from Cornelio Borda, Douglas Liner is in charge of the financial oversight and the PR of the company. He is a US/French citizen and has worked as a consultant in over 60 countries around the world. He met Renata on one of his job assignments in Beijing a few years ago.  They share a love for the exotic cultures and for Italian craftsmanship.
